PROJECT PROPOSAL
I N T R O D U C T I O N
Sirat is an independent film project that is not designed for commercial profit. Because of that, every form of collaboration—whether through resources, expertise, or material support—is welcomed as a meaningful contribution, one that will be acknowledged with respect and transparency, without any financial return scheme.
This film grows from a shared intention to reflect on our past and understand how unresolved histories continue to shape our relationships today. The heart of Sirat lies not in economic value, but in its cultural and social resonance—its ability to open gentle conversations about memory, truth, and reconciliation.
Through this short proposal, we warmly invite individuals and institutions who feel aligned with this mission to join us. Your support is not only a contribution to a film, but to a wider effort of bringing difficult stories into a space where they can be understood with empathy.
Across many places in the world, past wounds continue to shape how people see and treat each other.
1. TRANSPARENT BUDGET USE
All forms of support—financial or otherwise—will be documented and managed responsibly. A summary of the budget and expenses will be available on our official website:

with updates provided every 4 months.
2. REGULAR PRODUCTION UPDATES
Progress on production, festival submission status, community screening schedules and distribution developments will be shared through quarterly updates on the website. Collaborators can follow Sirat's journey at any time.
3. FAIR & SUPPORTIVE COLLABORATION
Every contribution will receive appropriate recognition. We believe Sirat grows not only from our core team, but from the community of people who care about this story.
distribution strategy
Sirat will be released through a four-phase distribution plan designed to balance artistic integrity, audience reach, and long-term cultural impact.
1. FILM FESTIVAL CIRCUIT (LOCAL & INTERNATIONAL)
The first phase focuses on submitting Sirat to festivals that champion independent, socially driven, and historically reflective cinema. The ~20-minute runtime places the film within the eligible range for major short-film programs in Indonesia and abroad.
Targeted festival tiers include:
Global A-list shorts festivals (e.g., Clermont-Ferrand, Sundance Shorts Program)
Asian cinema platforms (e.g., Busan, Short Shorts & Asia, Singapore IFF, JAFF)
European art-house and cultural festivals (e.g., Aesthetics, Vienna Shorts, Uppsala ISFF)
Indonesian & regional circuits (e.g., Minikino Film Week, major national festivals)
Timeline: Late 2026—Late 2027, following each festival's premiere requirements.
2. COMMUNITY & COLLECTIVE SCREENING TOUR
After the festival run, Sirat will be screened in galleries, universities, museums, film collectives, and cultural spaces.
This phase prioritizes dialogue—creating intimate rooms for discussions on history, reconciliation, and cultural memory.
Screenings will expand organically across locations where communities express interest and relevance.
Typically unfolding over the course of a year or more.
3. OTT PLATFORM SUBMISSIONS
The film will then be proposed to both local and international streaming platforms. This step aims to broaden accessibility while maintaining the film's integrity as a work of cultural reflection.
Timeline: Dependent on each platform's review cycle and potential exclusivity windows.
4. PUBLIC ACCESS RELEASE
In its final stage, Sirat will be made freely accessible through open platforms such as YouTube or other public channels. This ensures long-term availability for educators, researchers, communities, and anyone wishing to engage deeply with the film's themes.
Timeline: Post-OTT evaluation.

CLOSING STATEMENT
Sirat was born from years of research, dialogue, and reflection on how historical wounds are carried from one generation to the next. It is more than a film — it is a space for conversation, an attempt to look at the past with clarity, without fear or hatred.
With the support of collaborators, donors, and the film community, we hope Sirat can live fully: to be seen, discussed, and serve as a doorway to conversations that have long remained unspoken.
WE INVITE YOU TO BE PART OF THIS JOURNEY — NOT AS INVESTORS SEEKING PROFIT, BUT AS PARTNERS WHO BELIEVE THAT STORYTELLING CAN HEAL, ILLUMINATE, AND HELP US UNDERSTAND ONE ANOTHER.
Thank you for your attention, your trust, and the opportunity to bring Sirat into the world.
